How does this work?
We believe in both a community and cohort approach to deprescribing because:
we are stronger together
this lowers the financial barrier to entry; we want to reach as many people as possible
Ultimately, the goal is for you to achieve autonomy regarding your health journey while having appropriate resources for ongoing learning and success.
The general path for our clients includes:
Enroll in the private Describe Health community. [Under development, launching in 2024]
Basic membership gets you access to chat, forums, and resources.
Begin the curriculum on nutrition and lifestyle. This sets a strong foundation for possible deprescribing.
You might find that information contradicts the medical establishment; our results speak for themselves.
You can expect that this part of the process will take 1-2 months (there is lots of individual variability). Community leaders and members will support you throughout.
If applicable, once your foundation is set, you will be well positioned to begin your hyperbolic taper under the supervision of your prescriber.
The process of tapering is highly individualized. It can take months to years, depending on the medication and individual circumstances.
Again, you will have community leaders and members available for support throughout.

Timeline: the path forward
Improving your mental health through nutrition and lifestyle takes time and commitment. It takes an open mind and it takes a community.
It is worth it. You are worth it.
For your best chance of avoiding or reducing psychiatric medications, you must first set your foundation with nutrition. Depending on where you are starting, this will often take a couple of months.
When the time is right for you, we can help prepare you for conversations with your prescriber about deprescribing. It's important for everyone involved (you, us, them) to be on the same page with this process. For some people, tapering down on psychiatric medications can take many months or even years. It can be dangerous. Our role in this process is to provide you with support and resources along the way.
